Bethany Home
a home and place of rehabilitation for abused women and their children
About Bethany
Bethany is a non-profit organisation which was founded in 1989 by Val Halley-Wright as a shelter and place of rehabilitation for abused women and their children.
We are situated in the Bertrams area, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Our mission is to create a caring environment in which women and children find God's love, healing and teaching and to integrate each woman back into society.

There is a desperate need for shelters such as ours because of the spiralling domestic violence in our society. In the past year, we have assisted approximately 50 abused women and their children offering them a safe haven and place of rehabilitation. We accommodate up to 50 women and children for approximately 12 - 18 months.
Bethany is registered with the Department of Social Development as a non-profit organisation (NPO) with NPO Number 001-362. Bethany is also registered as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and has a section 18A tax exemption status with PBO Number 930002543.
